The Egerton Climate Summit, orchestrated by the Egerton University Environmental Association (EUEA), marked a pivotal moment in addressing climate change. Sponsored by TAGDev and Co-Elib at Egerton University, the summit convened environmental luminaries, scholars, and activists to deliberate on climate change challenges and solutions.

The Egerton Climate Summit 2024 was a rallying cry for collective action, emphasizing the imperative of a paradigm shift towards sustainable development. It highlighted the power of dialogue, innovation, and community engagement in combating climate change.

The Summit Unfolds:

The summit commenced with a vibrant brainstorming session, delving into the nuances of climate change and proposing innovative solutions like carbon credit systems. Esteemed speaker Prof. Wilkister Moturi illuminated the stage with insights on environmental health and the pivotal role of youth in effecting change.

Diverse panels navigated themes ranging from community and climate justice to the transformative power of AI and innovation in climate action. Insights were shared on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and the intersection of arts with climate change advocacy.

Anthony Kamau shed light on Nakuru County's climate challenges and outlined actionable steps for combatting climate change. Miss Barongo emphasized the urgency of biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration, advocating for public empowerment and advocacy.
